Car rental conditions

Cars use a 21+ standard and normally expect 3+ years driving experience. Selected exceptions may be considered only after confirmation.

A valid category B driving licence, passport or national ID are required. For non-EU licences, an International Driving Permit is recommended alongside the national licence.

Motorcycle rental conditions

Standard minimum rental age is 21. Bring a valid licence suitable for the motorcycle, a valid passport or national identity card, and additional documentation where legally required.

Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin and Moto Morini X-Cape 650 require category A. Honda CRF300L Rally and Voge 300 Rally require category A2, subject to the specific model’s legal eligibility. For 125cc scooters, A1 or B is accepted only where legally permitted for the specific rider and jurisdiction. Confirm licence eligibility before handover.

The website’s existing basic casco information is separate from the Liability Insurance addon listed at €0. The addon name and price do not establish coverage, exclusions, excess or a liability limit. Confirm the applicable insurance documents and rental agreement before booking; no full-coverage guarantee is made.

Motorcycle equipment & extras

For scooters and motorcycles up to 125cc, request a helmet €0, passenger helmet €0, motorcycle lock €0 or phone holder €0. For motorcycles from 130cc, compatible options may also include panniers at €10 per rental day, top box €0 and windshield €0. Every item requires model-specific compatibility, availability and prior confirmation; none is automatically fitted or included. Panniers, top box and windshield are not offered for smaller models without Rent Autokton’s explicit model-specific confirmation. Models of 126–129cc require owner confirmation.

For motorcycles from 130cc, model guarantee may be requested at €0, subject to availability and confirmation of the agreed model before reservation. It is not an unconditional promise or an automatic option for smaller models; those require explicit model-specific confirmation. Insurance eligibility and coverage must be verified for each vehicle and cannot be inferred from engine capacity.

For motorcycles from 130cc, cross-border permission may be requested at €30, subject to model-specific confirmation and express written approval from Rent Autokton before crossing any national border. It is not offered for scooters or smaller motorcycles without explicit model-specific confirmation; international travel is not promised. Paying the fee does not itself authorize travel and does not replace required insurance, legal documents or country-specific permissions. Confirm the itinerary and requirements in advance.

Motorcycle delivery & collection

Main location: Rruga Muhamet Deliu, Tirana 1062, Albania. Airport delivery €25; hotel delivery €15; airport return €25; hotel return €15. Each fee is for an individual service, not a daily charge. Delivery and return are separate; agree and confirm each location in advance.

Out-of-hours pickup €10 and out-of-hours return €10 apply separately only when the requested service falls outside the agreed regular operating hours. Confirm regular hours, the appointment and any applicable fee before booking.

Motorcycle deposit & responsibility

A refundable security deposit of €250 is required for scooters and motorcycles up to and including 125cc, and €500 for motorcycles from 130cc. For 126–129cc, the amount requires owner confirmation before booking. This is a security hold, not a rental charge. Refunds are subject to the agreed rental terms, documented damage, missing equipment and other legitimate charges. Any deductions follow the signed rental agreement and applicable law. The deposit is not automatically the limit of the customer’s liability.

Responsibility for motorcycle damage, missing equipment, accessories and keys follows the rental agreement, applicable insurance and law. Damage is assessed using available handover records, photographs and supporting evidence. Promptly report accidents, theft or significant damage to Rent Autokton; police reports may be required depending on the circumstances.

Motorcycle use & return

Only authorized, properly licensed riders may operate the motorcycle. Riders and passengers must wear helmets and follow applicable road safety rules. Unsafe, reckless, unauthorized or illegal use is prohibited. Off-road eligibility and restrictions follow the actual rental agreement; adventure models are not automatically approved for unrestricted off-road riding.

Return the motorcycle and all provided accessories at the agreed time and location, with the fuel level recorded at handover. Documented refuelling charges may apply if the level is lower. Late returns or unapproved location changes may incur additional charges only under previously agreed rental terms.

For motorcycle bookings, ask us to confirm cancellation conditions from 24 hours to less than 72 hours before pickup; the published policy does not specify that window. Confirm this before reserving. No additional cancellation fee is stated here.

Deposits & payments

Exact rental details — vehicle, dates, pickup, price, vehicle security deposit and any reservation deposit — are confirmed on WhatsApp before booking and at handover.

Insurance & responsibility

For motorcycles, confirm any optional casco availability and all coverage terms before booking; see the motorcycle rental conditions above. The Liability Insurance addon is separate from basic casco and does not establish full coverage.

Basic casco insurance is included. It covers road-accident damage subject to rental conditions and the vehicle security deposit.

Optional full casco coverage may be requested for an additional fee.

Basic casco does not cover tyres, glass/windows, underbody, lost or damaged keys, irresponsible use, prohibited off-road misuse, fines, penalties or traffic violations.

Pickup / return

Main pickup point: Rr. Muhamet Deliu, 1062, Tirana. Airport, hotel or custom pickup can be requested and must be confirmed in advance on WhatsApp.

Pickups and returns can be arranged at any hour by prior agreement.

Fuel

Fuel is full-to-full or same-to-same depending on handover. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level received; a refuelling charge may apply if it is returned lower.

Cross-border use

Vehicles are intended for use inside Albania unless prior written approval is given by Rent Autokton.

Driver eligibility

Fines / misuse

Fines, penalties, traffic violations, irresponsible use and prohibited off-road misuse are not covered by basic casco insurance.

Cancellation / changes

Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the scheduled pickup can be cancelled free of charge.

For cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup, any reservation deposit already paid may be retained, or a charge equivalent to at least one rental day may apply, depending on the confirmed booking terms.
